But what if...?

At Restore And More, we understand that choosing to have your piano restored is a big decision and we want you to feel well informed when making it. To that end, here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get about our restoration services. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Q: Will restoring a piano with Restore And More change the tone or sound of the instrument?
A: Yes. Your piano is worn out and will sound entirely revitalised after it has been restored, but because we specialise in restoring pianos to their original condition, the sound and tone will be returned to their original quality.

Q: What kind of warranty do you offer for your restoration services?

A: We offer a 5-10 year warranty for all of our restoration services, dependent on the work undertaken.  All restring warranties will include 3 free tunings within the first year.

Q: Will I need to do any additional work after the restoration?
A: Our restoration process is designed to give you a fully functional piano. Your piano will be restored using new materials and as these settle in to their new environment, there may be some maintenance required to the regulation and tuning in the first year to help it stabilise.

Q: Will there be any additional costs associated with the restoration?
A: It is possible but rare, that there are times when we cannot assess the full condition of the piano until it is in pieces - for example a split wrest plank or cracked frame. Rest assured, if we find conditions which change your quote, you will be immediately informed and any additional work will be discussed before we move forwards.

Q: Is the restoration process time consuming?
A: The amount of time required for the restoration depends on the condition of the piano and the type of restoration needed. Our experienced team of professionals will work to complete the restoration as quickly as possible while still ensuring quality results. During the process there will be times when the piano needs to "settle" before the next stage, e.g. new string tensions. Time estimates will be given within your personal quote.

Q: What will I gain from my inspection?
A: After an inspection by Restore And More, you will receive a comprehensive report outlining the condition of your piano, any necessary repairs and our recommended course of action with associated prices.

Q: Do you provide a collection and delivery service?

A: Yes, Restore And More arrange all necessary transport arrangements for your piano, from its current location to our workshop and back. Rest assured your instrument will be handled with the utmost care.

Q: What is the longevity of my restoration?
A: The longevity of your restoration will depend on the type and quality of materials used, the environment in which the piano is kept and the maintenance it receives in the years to come. Rest assured that Restore And More will only use the best quality materials and provide guidance on the best aftercare for your piano. With the correct care and conditions, we expect your piano to bring you joy for at least another 20 years after restoration.
